Would you like to volunteer at the Society?

Many people give of their time at the Society.  We have volunteers who do research, work in the library, give tours or simply sit at the front door in the afternoon
and greet visitors.

Tour Guides:  The Society needs more tour guides for the collections.  Will train.   Hours flexible although training will be done on weekdays.   Currently we are looking for people who would be eventually be able to do Saturday afternoon tours and/or Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoons.

Museum Sitters:  The Society is looking for people who would sit at the Society and greet visitors on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoons from 1 to 5 or on Saturday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m.   If you have time even for just one afternoon a month, please contact us.

Hostess Chairperson:  The Society needs a person to arrange for the light refreshments at program meetings throughout the year - generally about once a month.  Hostess chair would be given a budget to purchase some items and he/she would also reach out to the membership for donations of prepared food (cookies, hors d'oeuvres, tea sandwiches, etc.) for specific meeting or event.

Do you have an
area of expertise which you would like to share with the Society?  Do you have library experience, research experience, curatorial experience, tour guide experience, and/or do you already have an idea for doing a walking tour in downtown Bristol?

If you are interested, please contact us at info@bhps.necoxmail.com or call 401-253-7223 and request to speak to Rei Battcher, Librarian, on weekday afternoons.
